The time had come to return “the other half” of the R80 back to its rightful home. No longer would the motorcycle sit there feeling sorry for itself; one wheel short.
The manky looking drive-shaft needed some cleaning up, so I took the opportunity to prepare and paint it prior to refitting it.
With the paint sorted, I fitted the replacement gaiter and clamped it tight.
With the help of Ren, I was able to maneuver and re-install the drive-shaft and mono-shock suspension with relative ease. The rear wheel was a simple four bolt process, so it wasn’t long before it too was refitted. Now that the rear wheel was fitted, I had a chance to observe the fruits of my labour thus far. Just as I’d hoped, the rear wheel looks awesomely visible from the left side of the motorcycle (opposing the swing-arm/drive-shaft).
Very happy with how things are shaping up thus far!
